2024 Farina Cricket Match

Farina V’s ‘The Rest of the World’

After the final team selections were completed, the toss was taken and the Farina team went in to bat. The Farina team was Captained by Ken Dawes, and Colin Murdoch Captained the Rest of the World. Farina achieved an impressive score of 180 runs off 32 overs.

It was another find Farina mid-winters day, mostly clear sky and only a light breeze. The wicket was in top condition thanks to the groundskeeper giving it a good clean up prior to the match.
The scorers were watching intently from the scorers room in the pavilion and ensuring there was no funny business.
After a fair fightback, the Rest of the World just fell short scoring just 170, handing a well deserved victory by 10 runs to the Farina Team.
Cinematographer Matt Sterne presented a new bat to Kevin Dawes to be used at next years match.
Celebrations carried on into the night at Patterson’s House, and included a premiere screening of the documentary Ghost Town Cricket produced by Matt Sterne and his crew from Uncovered Grounds.
