The 2024 Week 2 Restoration Works

To document the activities of the Farina Restoration Group (FRG) each week during our 8 week programme in 2024 we have chosen to ask for contributions of stories and photos from Volunteers and Visitors. We hope you enjoy looking at the activities and events through the eyes of our volunteers and visitors.

The Farina railway station sign has returned. In the late 70’s the sign went missing and a few years later it was discovered by Kevin Dawes, the Farina Station owner, amongst some weeds by the main highway. Kevin placed it in the back of his farm shed and it was forgotten about until it was rediscovered 12 months ago. The volunteers led by Rob Ball have cleaned it up and restored it to its place.

Barry Allen took these two photos of the stonework crew this week who worked on the Gangers Cottage restoration.
