The 2024 Week 6 Restoration Works

To document the activities of the Farina Restoration Group (FRG) each week during our 8 week programme in 2024 we have chosen to ask for contributions of stories and photos from Volunteers and Visitors. We hope you enjoy looking at the activities and events through the eyes of our volunteers and visitors.

The stonework volunteers have been hard at work this week on the Stables at the back of the New Police Station. There’s still more work to be done however the photos show the progress being made on the front and side walls.  Most of the photos were submitted by Tony Tunstall who is pictured with his service dog in one of the photos, with some additional photos supplied by Week 6 coordinators Peter and Ollie Watson.

Farina Volunteer Julie Iles sent in this collage of photos from her time at Farina this year.

Work continued on the Gangers Cottage into week 6. Photos taken by Peter and Ollie Watson.

The Garbo Girls doing a tour of the site between jobs. Photos taken by Peter and Ollie Watson.

At the end of Week 6 we had the first significant rainfall of the season, which led to us closing the bakery for one day due to the condition of the road. Photos taken by Peter and Ollie Watson. The first set of photos show the storm arriving and the last photo was taken the morning after.
